The committee meets every last Monday of the month to review all documents that were submitted by the first of that month (i.e if you want your review done in the February meeting, you should have uploaded your submission package by the 1st of February)
What type of submission are you looking to make?
To make an initial application, please complete this application form and compile all the supporting documents listed in the form.
You may choose to make your submission under any of the below three categories although the committee reserves the right to recategorize any submission at their discretion:
Less than minimal risk. Fits into specific regulatory defined categories (e.g., anonymous surveys, standard educational tests). Requires administrative confirmation by the Secretariat + Chairperson.
(exempt determination will be communicated within 5 working days)
No more than minimal risk. (e.g. surveys, interviews, or focus groups on non-sensitive topics with adults, and data analysis projects). Reviewed by Chair + designated member.
(expedited review will be conducted within 7 working days)
Greater than minimal risk, or does not fit expedited categories. Reviewed by the fully convened committee. Requires a quorum to decide.
(review within 21 working days)

For studies lasting longer than one year, investigators must submit a continuing review application at least 60 days prior to the expiry date of the current ethical approval. To do this, please complete this application form and compile all the supporting documents listed in the form.

The Busara ISERC will establish and maintain a transparent, accessible, and fair procedure for handling complaints. To file a complaint, please complete the Dispute Submission Form or the Appeal Submission Form.
